FAO: People who live in Somerset

Seems like Yeovil is off the list as well then, I think they're going to go for Taunton, but I'm not sure yet.
 
I always thought Yeovil was a bit of a hole. I grew up in Wincanton but went to college in Yeovil. Wincanton was nice but a bit small and out of the way of everything..
 
Just noticed this thread about Taunton - I live and work here but generally prefer cities & coastal areas to small towns like Taunton BUT it does have the advantage of being on both the motorway system AND the main line rail system. The town centre is nothing to write home about but they are starting to gradually improve the riverside area but it will take time and the centre has not yet been pedestrianised so improvements are still required. I'd say easy access to Quantock Hills and the ability to get to south coast areas like Lyme are quite handy. They have FTTC in the outlying estates but NOT the central area where I live but I'm hoping they will cover the whole town eventually.
