Hey guys, simple question really - what is this spider?

Doubt it's anything nasty or rare but I've personally never seen one with a body this big inside my house before.... Mum came into my room going absolutely skitzo about some "monster upstairs" so I figured I'd take a couple of pics before it went up the Dyson. Lol.

Spider 01
Spider 02

Its french, Called the Spider A La Testicle,

Because it looks like its got a diseased testicle strapped to its back :p

Haha, it wasn't that big really.
I'm not "scared" of spiders but I wouldn't have wanted it crawling over me... put it that way....
It was probably about the size of a 50p piece? Was going to get something in the pic for scale but mum was eager with the hoover and the cat was threatening to eat it (which I was up for, but alas, mother was not).

Yeah, I'd agree - looked like it was about to burst and spew forth a million tiny beasts from inside it.

Felt bad for the poor thing really, once mum had hoovered it up, it was spinning around in the Dyson then she turned it off and it was still alive trying to crawl its way out! Mum went mental again and threw the contents of the hoover in the bin. Was quite funny watching her actually :D

Did the Dyson motor burn out?

It's and orb weaver of some kind. AKA a pretty common garden spider. Nowt to get excited about.

You guys are a bunch of wimps :p
I'm a girl and even I wouldn't think twice about picking it up in a glass and setting it free outside, it's extremely pathetic to kill an animal because of your totally irrational fear towards it
If we lived in a country that has deadly spiders then I could somewhat understand but we don't so you have no excuse other than your feeble! :p joke ;)

my mum as actually been bitten by a poisonous spider im afriad so i think we should be afraid of weird looking spiders. this was in our own garden! spent weeks in hospital with a black and purple leg and as a result my mum now has a leg twice the size of the other one! i hope that spider enjoyed the chunk of skin!

I find that very hard to believe to be honest!
And even if it is true the chances of that happening in the U.K are extraordinarily low, you would have 100x+ chance of getting run over! Better start culling all the cars on the road hey?

common everyday house spiders fine. anything that we dont recognise. like that for example. id be cautious of!
