I can change tyres and sell those to a mug

The last set of these went for £700 on ebay. Bargain if it can be done safely.

He is sort of right, yes. You can physically modify E38 wheels to fit an E39. But the tyre sizes will be totally wrong in addition.

You can rebore the wheels or use spacers or something (Cant remember the specifics) but its a huge bodge so I wouldnt.

Can't see why people are saying they won't fit. There would only be 7mm more 'poke' on the front and 5mm on the rear. The stock fitment is hardly very tight, and the extra 1/2" on the rear is nothing, 265 will be fine on that.

Oh and don't file them, have the bore expanded by a professional machine shop.

Aye, but the current wheels need a refurb, so rather than do that I'd prefer to buy these as they should help it sell.
