Hi,

I'm currently trying to diagnose my sister's Seat Cupra 20vT. It's currently getting around 25mpg from mixed use.

What MPG do other 1.8T engine owners get?

Thanks :)

Wife gets ~30 in her Leon Cupra on her mainly A-road work run. I managed a bit more than that when I used her car for my 40 mile per day commute for a couple of weeks.

I'd say 25mpg for mixed driving is probably about right, assuming mixed consists of a fair bit of pottering about town and in traffic.

Cupra 1.8T here as well and i'd say that's about right. get her to drive everywhere with the real time MPG on display and tell her that the number is the savings she's making. :)

I get 31mpg tank average on my 150bhp AUM, mostly a 6 mile to work and back commute.

If I have a few long journeys in there, then 35 over a tank, 40-42 on a journey according to the computer possible. Best i've seen from the computer is 47 from a 2 hour journey.

If i'm ragging it, 22-25.

When my thermostat went though, I was getting about 24-25 tank average. As soon as I fixed it, back up to 30/31.

edit - for clarification, that's all calculated by filling and recording with FuelLog, the actual trip computer seems to be about 2mpg too optimistic.

I average just over 30 in normal use and closer to 38-39 on a run. That's purely going off the trip average that I reset with the tank normally.

That's a TT 240.

the mfa on these things is highly inaccurate in my experience

combined use in ours varies from 29-31mpg which is mostly 13 miles each way for work each day

Im getting 30ish from a 225 Audi TT. Urban driving mpg is low on this engine i find, around 20-25 if your stuck in stop start traffic.

Calculated when I had my 1.8t Golf MK4, APR remap for 95 ron fuel.

30-34mpg around town, up to 45mpg on a run but 40 often common.

Mine was really quite good on juice for the kinda driving I did around town :)

That must mean they have a different tank to the golf

400 miles on the golf tank is 34mpg or are you quoting mfa?

Only if you literally empty the tank bone dry.

£60 worth of fuel as he stated won't empty the tank these days.

You're looking at something like 45l for £60 (~135ppl), so 400 miles on 45l of fuel is pretty much bang on 40MPG.

You'd need to be using about £72 or £73 worth of fuel for a 400mile trip to be giving you 34mpg.
