I have been asked by my boss at work if I could get some photographs at a charity fashion show that the company is attending. I have never done anything like this before. Any reccomendations or advice?

I have a Canon 400D with the kit lense, a Sigma 70-210 (or 112 to 480 if you take into account the 400D is not a full size sensor), and a 300AFDC basic flashgun.

Thanks, Andrew.

my advice would be to postion yourself at the end of the catwalk for the majority of the time.
Get the models as they leave the curtains, then a photo in a full frame of the model just before she turns.

Then move to the left, and see if you can get some at an angle with a perspective drawing to the centre of the photo of the front row of watchers with the model at the back or front.
(if u see what i mean)

Use a flash difuser/softner, not to light the model to much i think, or there skin will seem to over exposed, and the background dark. Depending on the lighting of the catwalk.
F11 seems a suitable choice for depth of field. Not to massive not to shallow.

Cheers for the advice. Looks like I'll need to pick up a flash diffuser :).

Any other input? Will the kit lense be a suitable focal length?
