Fashion Show / Catwalk

I have been asked by my boss at work if I could get some photographs at a charity fashion show that the company is attending. I have never done anything like this before. Any reccomendations or advice?

I have a Canon 400D with the kit lense, a Sigma 70-210 (or 112 to 480 if you take into account the 400D is not a full size sensor), and a 300AFDC basic flashgun.

Cheers for the advice. Looks like I'll need to pick up a flash diffuser .

Any other input? Will the kit lense be a suitable focal length?
