Faster then speed of light.

All assuming of course that we are perfectly correct on all of these things and won't have to throw them out of the window like pretty much every other scientific theory man has ever come up with.

Pretty much every other?!

General relativity has only ever had additions made to it, it's never been thrown out!

In relation to physics and space time though nothing much had changed theory wise for a while as far as I can see, new theories have been thrown around but nothing has been thrown out like a cheap whore (or Asim18 at uni :p).

Warp travel is the only current known/theoretical/possible way to "travel" at light/FTL speed. Think of a piece of A4 paper. bring the two opposite ends together, thats warp travel (or more commonly known as origami).

None, you could never reach the speed of light. Plus even if you could, who would you tell? We'd all be dead.

All I know is you would deff need something to eat from your woman in the kitchen afterwards from using all that energy at inifite mass.

Read up on Tachyons for what you "might" see if you observe something moving at faster than light speeds.

Basically, the Tachyon particle will have passed by before you see it, and then you see a blue-shifted version as it approaches you and a red-shifted version as it moves away from you.

But Tachyon's are only theoretical particles. They would basically work backwards, meaning that something can travel faster than light speed IF it starts at a speed faster than light.

In order to slow a Tachyon to the speed of light you would require infinite energy, exactly as if you were to speed a particle with mass to the speed of light.

Further, Tachyons cannot store "information" at FTL speeds, this is the key point - FTL information is not possible

Theoretically if you were to travel round the world faster then the speed of light while holdingg a full sized mirror infront of your self arms streched out then would you crash into the back of yourself? of would you go through an image of your body?

brilliant image, but not correct ... the light from the flashlight would move away from you at the speed of light, from your frame of reference.

The speed of light is constant even if you are moving at the speed of light - it's the reference frame that changes.

However the light never travels faster than c.

I get the whole point of reference thing but its quite an interesting idea that if the light is eminating from a torch moving at the speed of light itself, there are two options
- the light would be trapped in the torch as it can't move faster to escape and project forwards
- the light shines forwards as the point of origin is essentially stationary as far as the torch is concerned but to an observer, the entire body is moving at 2c .... how can this be disproved if we can't travel at the speed of light, or near it?

Amazing :) I look forward to reading your paper then you release it, Prof. Six6siX :D

Haha, I love these images, got loads of them, but I'm afraid I can't take credit for them :D
