** FASTEST SSDS ON THE PLANET - REVO3 upto 1500MB/s Read, 1250MB/s Write ** Pre-Order NOW!!

They are very expensive but take the 240GB RevoDrive3 as an example... Its only 10-15% more expensive than a standard 240GB SSD such as the vertex 3 but twice the speed. With that in mind I actually think they are a real bargain!

Expensive still though but you get what you pay for :)

I was thinking the same, the 240GB standard version would very much be a possibility for normal users with the cash..the rest of them are just too expensive to consider.

Not really worth it over a pair of vertex 3 tbh. But I'm sure someone will buy these drives.

Why do you stock these OcUK? Do people actually spend over £1000 on things like this here?

We have some customers who like the best, I think so far the most expensive system OcUK has built was sold for around £16,000 though am sure Naithwraith can confirm, so yes there are customers out there who do indeed make such purchases. :)

Its a simple case of if you can afford then you buy it. :)

I think it was 16k gibbo, and a very nice chap who bought it to.

Please, do NOT take this as scare tactic, genuinely interested> Has there been any testing to see how the using of that much of the PCI-Express bandwidth effects other devices on the PCI-E bus? (I.e. gfx card's and there performance - are they affected?)

Awesome cards though! Wish they had a protective shroud on them though!

And yes the 240gb when i seen it i though whats the catch why so cheap.

Shame these dont and wont support the trim command.
Not sure what impact this will have on the performance over time...

Someone can't read:

"the Revo3 features OCZ’s proprietary Virtualized Controller Architecture (VCA) 2.0 which provides features including TRIM support and SMART data monitoring"

From OCZ themselves:

NOTE: Though the Revo3 card supports TRIM, because the architecture is based on SCSI, the Microsoft Windows StorPort architecture currently does not support either TRIM or SCSI UNMAP. As such, these commands are not generated by the OS, which of course prevents VCA from executing them. We are working with Microsoft to have this functionality enabled as soon as possible.

The unit itself supports TRIM and SCSI unmap, but Windows does not support TRIM over SCSI at this time, currently TRIM is only supported for AHCI devices at the OS level
