Faulty BFG 8800GTX

Hi,

My BFG 8800GTX card always "screams" when I turn the PC on, if I reset then it doesn't show this behaviour. I thought it may have been the PSU so I replaced it with a Corsair 620W and it still does it.

I guess it's RMA time?

Do I have to ring that U.S. number to get it replaced?

By screams, do you mean the fan spins very fast then quietens down?

Mine makes a short scream when i power my pc off... but only then.

My 8800GTS makes this loud scream when I dont put the PCI-E conector on and the monitor wont come on.

No, as I mean the warning piezo buzzer goes off as if it's not getting enough juice

Mine will boot happily but makes a horrible noise.

That would have been the hamster m8, must have caught its whiskers in the dynamo.

The screech when powering down seems normal, sounds like the caps are discharging. Only other time it screeched at me was when I turned pc on without plugging in to the PCIE wires onto the card.

i don't get this problem with my bfg, using a tagan 580w u15 + expert.

I would suggest looking into rma'ing it if you find it a real problem.
