Hi there:)

A few years back my friend purchased one of the Ultima H²OC Trident pre built systems and has recently started suffering constant shut downs.

I had a quick check and noticed the CPU was quickly overheating.

I'm not that familiar with watercooling but wanted to ask...

Should i feel the pump inside the res working away because there seems to be no flow from the res?

This is the hardware in question

Thanks for the quick response..

No water sloshing around no noise or vibration so all fingers point to the pump.

What do you guys think would be the best solution to this problem?

Will it be a new bay res? or can i get the pump on it's own?

Can anyone suggest a decent replacement.

Thanks for your time guys:)

The guy is more than happy to throw cash at his problem, it's really just me not knowing what the best course of action is.

I assume i should see the liquid passing through the tubes if the pump is operational?

I only know air, never dealt with water cooling at all and the thought of messing around with it just makes me nervous. Although it does look like a fairly simple self contained system I'd much rather put him on an air solution.

Can anyone link me to some cooling systems in the shop that are similar to what he has currently installed but perform better?

Cheers guys:)
