Faulty - Seagate Momentus 7200.4 500GB 7200RPM SATA-II

I think i have a faulty hard drive from OC

Seagate Momentus 7200.4 500GB 7200RPM SATA-II

I format my new hard drive a few days ago and installed windows 7 Premium from new , then booted up laptop , i found windows 7 Premium was running very slow and very sluggish ie closing windows & opening programms

I formatted hard drive before installed windows 7 , so is the hard drive faulty ?

I have the same hard drive ( Seagate Momentus 7200.4 500GB 7200RPM SATA-II ) with windows 7 Premium and works fine no problems

Download Seagate's own diagnostics from their site and see what they say.

Seagate's forum is full of issues unfortunately.

Have a listen, sounds like a bunch of crickets in my Mac Mini :/

This is around 4 months, maybe 5 old. Updated firmware too!

I really don't know what to do, bother OcUK or go directly to Seagate.

Thing is, it doesn't slow down for me, it makes that god awful noise but it isn't reassuring at all.
