Favorite Ice Cream?

How their ice cream sucks, it is such low quality rubbish.
Out of the easy to buy stuff Hagen daz salted caramel.

I dream for the day some one makes high quality old fashioned flavours, rum & raisin, tuti fruity and the like.

The problem with run and raisin in this day and age it will have to be artificial rum flavoring which is horrid.

I made my own rum & raisin a few years back and it was quite good but if you add enough rum to really give it a good taste and kick then the alcohol prevents it freezing so hard. You get a soft scoop ice cream which is OK if you are into that kind of thing.

I prefer just to pour the spirits over the top. Ginger and lime ice cream with a whisky butterscotch sauce, or simple things like apricot sorbet with Williamine, damsel with Viex Prune liquor.

As for flavours, I really like the basics done well TBH. Chocolate is my fav overall, but so is a god coffee, strawberry with chunks of soft fruit.

If its going to be a mass produced box then I'll go all out on some kind of rocky road, or caramel chocolate swirl with 'moose' droppings and extra cookie pieces or some such junk.

I like ben and jerrys all or nutting but it is not my favourite out of everything. I think their ice creams are always super sweet.
Häagen dazs is good too but again I find it quite sweet. Pistachio was always my favourite out of theirs, not sure if you can get it in UK.

I miss Finnish ice creams and flavours they have. Liqourice ice cream is amaizing and there is a lot more options if you dont want sickly sweet ice cream.

The best ice cream I have had though has to be tiramisu flavour gelato I had in Italy. It tasted just like tiramisu does.

We had a great gelato store near work that's now gone :(

If it has chocolate or nuts in I'm happy.

That said, I do love sorbets in the the summer too.
Thinking about it, your good lady wife took me to ********* in Soho. Now I really did have trouble picking a flavour there. Amazing ice cream!

Dang it I also forgot about Stracciatella.... which makes an appearance in this photo (From the Amorino stand in Jardin de Tuileries):

They don't make it anymore (I think) but Walls used to make a Cart'Dior coconut that I thought was to die for....

Green & Black's chocolate orange or maple and pecan have to be my favourite, although I doubt they'll be available again.

A friend of mine works at Yeo Valley, who also make Green & Black's - I'm constantly reminded that I'll never taste it at its best, fresh off the production line prior to blast chilling.

Just make your own, it is easier than you'd think.
