Fear of clubs' bouncer rejection

must be a tough job refusing squaddies? what if they descide to fight back? i suppose thats why you would refuse them in the first place, just can't see how refusing a group of 6 or so sober marines/ any military personal who just want to have fun on their leave or something could end pretty.

pretty disgraceful imo painting them with same brush espcially considering they actually help the country unlike the fat bouncers at the clubs i visit. Don't care if they can bench press 40kg more then me wouldnt be able to catch me if their life depended on it could easily punch one in the nose and get away from outside lol.

posts sounds a bit stupid just remembering a time when they pulled a friend out the other week for by the neck because he stood on the bouncers toe by accident.

My mate recently came back on break from the army and he said the amount of times he got turned away for being a soldier was sickening. It was literally a 2 in 5 situation.

Unfortunately it sounds like your painting all bouncers with the same brush in the same way a lot of people paint all drunken squaddies as fighting messes

#1 dress to impress
#2 don't fool around in the queue too much
#3 have a contingency for if you're denied entry

I was denied entry to a club I've been going to for 10 years off and on a month or so back (had trainers on, they'd changed their dress code again). I just take it in my stride now and go somewhere else (or home if others really want to go in the club). Their loss at the end of the day.

This is a funny thread. All my mates who are posers tend to go to karbon/kushion and i really don't see the appeal. I've been knocked back from the garage a few times for no real reason but got in wearing really casual clothes. Bouncers at the cathouse are bang on but that aint the place you sound like you want to visit.

I thought that too :s

Same here, glad I'm not the only one.

I'm thinking they should stop being so overly self conscious and worried about what other people think and giving into peer pressure trying to fit in to a certain group.

It's clear you are having issues with it to begin with and you're more concerned about posting links to what you wear and how much they are worth and what your dad used to do..

Also it's a bit strange to me that clubs have taken another step in the people they let in based on clothes such as; white shirt a no-no with brown or black shoes? Whatever next. I can understand some limits but that?

But, it is your choice, just airing my thoughts :)

All I can think when I'm looking at this thread is, "what a hell?"

It's a good thing I drink in places where middle classes don't dare to venture past nevermind in :p

Well I haven't been in Karbon myself, not really my scene but by the sounds of it its one of those stuck up their own *** places, a bit like the clubs on George St in Edinburgh. Forget that for a night out, rip off prices and constant hassle, no thanks.

I have been in Glasgow the past couple of weekends, was at the Arches on 25th and entry was fine. On Saturday there i went to O2 Academy to see AvB, had a ticket and everything but was refused at the door :(

Bouncer with a big ego if you ask me!

i hate some of the bouncers in town, ive been knocked back from ABC about a hundred times for no good reason, just a "not tonight mate". Power tripping dobbers.

Never been to karbon, never seen the appeal, much prefer a night in sub club.

well, this guy got in

I got into silver on a saturday night wearing trainers, jeans and a t-shirt, unshaven with long scruffy hair so i think you'll be fine in karbon haha.

Karbon...dress decently: shirt, jeans and smart shoes and you should be okay. It's rubbish though.

clothes have nothing to do with it

Bamboo - no asian males allowed (specifically of indian/pakistani origin)
The Garage - same as above

byblos, karbon and the social have the same attitude as above - unless they are in a a very small group and smartly dressed then you can get in.

i have walked up to bamboo completely sober and wearing a £400 suit and been refused entry, i asked for a reason and he said, your friend has earings on, i then said he can take them off and he still refused us entry.

i have only ever managed to get into bamboo and garage a total of 2 times each - and have been succesfully knocked back over 100 times

on the other hand ive never been knocked back from byblos, the social, karbon, jumpin jak's, tiger tiger or classrooms and no matter what i cant get into bamboo not even when im with white friends
