Fear of clubs' bouncer rejection

Pubs in town suck :)

I have been in 'Soical' left to go to the cash machine returned within 3 min and refused re-entry without being drunk before :), also a guy I was with went out for a smoke and was refused trying to come back in.

It does seem fairly random on Saturday we werent allowed in due to someone having boots on :(!

You wasn't given some sort of stamp or arm band?

Just blag it, dress codes are easily avoided.
"No, these are fashion trainers, they cost £250, look, i know liam the barman he'll tell you" kind of thing, half the time works.

But if you really want to go to a poncey place wear the dress code.

99% of the time i'll wear what i've been wearing all day into town, trainers, jeans, old tshirt, maybe an old shirt on top. Possibly a coat.
Don't get these poncey kiddies who get dressed up for town, just go somewhere you want to drink, not where your mates drink.

The Garage doesn't let in Asians??? Things must have changed somewhat since I last worked there then.

Picture if you can, an under-18's night with 600 kids roughly split 50/50 in terms of girls and boys. Where the boys are concerned, there where about 250 Asian lads thinking they where black, about 40 white lads thinking they where black and about 10 black kids having the time of their lives being centre of attention to 300 Asian girls and dancing around to totally crap rap music. Hassle, hassle and more hassle.

im talking of specifiacally pakistani or indian descent, and the 2 times i have got in - i was the only asian in there

ive only ever managed to get in twice and tried about 100 times, whereas ive never been knocked back from classrooms - this is about 5 doors up - so it has nothing to do with dress sense because i wear much better clothes than the people who do get in, the usual excuse is - not tonight lads or better trying somewhere else. this is going in groups of 2's splitting up 5 minutes between trying to get in

im pretty sure bouncers know how much your trainers cost - if they even bother to look at them

i know all the regular excuses "sorry no white trainers" "no earings" " no timbies" "too casual"

therefore i adhere to all those rules - yet still dont get in - bamboo has a racist policy as does the garage - this is fact - i could even make a documentary - sell it to channel 4 - interesting idea

Saying you know the barman might work if you a) get the name right and b) they've seen you before or are willing to check with said barman but it certainly isn't something to rely on. It's a whole lot easier if you either know the doorman personally or know someone else who does and is with you.

If you don't go somewhere where your mates drink does that mean you're just drinking on your own?

However I'm with you on the not getting dressed up usually, I'll have a shower but that's about as big a concession as I will normally make to going out, then again I'm in Dundee and fashion is not high on the agenda.

Lol, you can't be serious ?

Nah the bouncers are stupid as **** in liquid, plus i know one of the bar supervisors. Wear decent shirt, and clean trainers you can usually convince them to let you in.
I've gotten away with it twice now, i refuse to wear shoes into town, i don't like going liquid anyway really, i'd rather not stand around for 20 minutes to get a drink, pay double what it's worth and then listen to crap music for about 90% of the night while a load of poncey chavs try and proove they're hard by punching the boxing machine (which is funny when they miss and knacker their hand i might add).

You aint drinking on your own, you either get freinds into it, or you make new freinds in the place to drink with, I go into town for a laugh, doesn't mean i stick with my mates.

I know, I'm trying to make it sound reasonable! I don't bother accepting guestlists from Asian guys unless they are after a table or unless they are girls.

Who do you do stuff for?

Used to do a lot more than I do now - Paper, Chinawhite, Volstead, 24, Café, basically used to be out 5 nights a week... now just Movida and hopefully the re-opened 24 (called Discotheque or something?). Trying to sort something out with Studio Valbonne, Funky Buddha and Embassy at the moment as well. :o
