Fell off my bike this morning

If your looking for sympathy here...then you'll get it. I came off last year and bruised ribs & shoulder and aggravated an old arm fracture.

Hope you heal up soon! ;). Don't be put off, just hop back on.

and TBH if a push bike can't ride on the road due to the weather then it's probably best if only those with 4x4 cars were allowed on the road at that time. ;)

True. Only oversized mommy-mobiles should be allowed on the road at any time. Think of the children! :)

:D

Could have been worse matey, quite a few years back I got hit by a retard who did not look left before speeding out of a junction. I dislocated every bone in my shoulder, cut through the muscle and 3/4 of the way through the tendon, bloody hurt.

Nice to see you wheren't too seriously injured and my respect for cycling in this weather. Nice to see I'm not the only one commuting to work in freezing conditions wearing shorts, got to love those strange looks. :)

Thanks for the replies guys much appreciated, and yes it was a bicycle. The morphine is great luckily for me they had to use that much to stop the pain it knocked me out lol, so when i came round i had a nice new sling on and my shoulder had been popped back in. Not sure of the damage yet have to go back to the hospital tomorrow, will keep you all informed.
Cheers for now

I still suffer with my partial dislocation 5 years after doing it! A full dislocation could be even more problematic depending on how much tendon damage has occured.

It's bloody painful, the rehab is probably more painful as the shoulder is so tender. Fortunately I didn't suffer too much tearing, but just coughing and moving caused sharp pangs of pain - a bit like breaking a rib actually.

Nasty start to the year Steve - having dislocated mine I can empathise, horrendously painful.

Snap! I'm still waiting on my operation to repair the damage. I've done mine 9 times now, suffering torn tendons, lesions, the lot.

To the OP: If they give you any physio, DO IT. Its not something to be skimped on - I didn't put a lot of effort into mine, and am now spending most of my days on painkillers because of the damage done.

Rest up, you'll be fine :)
