Am I the only person who thinks that women just CANNOT do stand up comedy? I've yet to see a good female comedian. They always look like they are trying too hard to impress which just detracts from the act.

Is this some form of repressed sexism or is it true that women can't do stand up?

Never found one funny. Ever.

Can't stand them actually, Jenny Eclair, Jo Brand......utter rubbish.

May recognize her better with glasses. Best female comedian ever imho.

Saw one funny one at a comedy club a while back, I believe her shows have been on one of the channels on Sky like Paramount or something. Other than her, I agree.

Lilly Savage. I know she doesn't do stand up comedies as such, but I enjoy watching her.

And yes I do know Lilly Savage is actually a male, called Paul O'Grady. ;)

So...they aint female or a stand up comedian.

Can you see the relevence? 'Cos I can't :p

I agree that male stand up comedians tend to be far funnier.

Depends how you want to look at it, but I see your point.

I see Paul O'Grady as a female when dressed up as Lilly.

Agree with Josie Lawrence and Victoria Wood - both very funny people.
Also find Hattie Heyridge very funny as well.

Agree that 99% of them are pure crap though.

I've tried - I go to a comedy club every 2 weeks - seen maybe 24 female comedians

Found precicely 0% of them funny...

Nah man, women are useless in pretty much everything, we just don't tell them too often because then we don't get any nookie.

Personally I find Lee Evans + Bill Bailey great (for different reasons).

Yet to see a decent woman act.. Jo Brand gets on my nerves though
