Ok, I've been trying to get hold of a Wii without success, and have one on order which will turn up sometime next year. But as I've been scaning many console forums I've been enlightened to a few of the Xbox 360's delights. So... do I hang on till after crimb and stick with the Wii or do I go out and buy an Xbox 360? I would like to have something new and shiny to play with over crimbo so if I plum for the Xbox that should turn up before 23rd.

Bundle I was looking at:

Xbox 360 Prem
PGR3
GOW
Arcade
2 Wireless Controlers

299 squid.

Ah right. I loved PGR on xbox and everyones going on about GOW.

But just dunno which to go for.

I've seen that some say the xbox can overheat quickly, is this really the case? Is the intercooler a must?

My 360 has just finnished a 8 hour gaming session while having things piled around it, no crashes and no intercooler.

No need for one, PGR3 is amazing and the majority of people rate GOW highly aswell. :)

I would say it depends upon what TV you currently have, If you have a HDTV then go for the 360, if not then go for a Wii. It'd be a shame to be playing the 360 on a SDTV as it is capable of far better picture on a HDTV.

Rubbish. I used a 28" SDTV for a year and it was fine. Just got a 32" hdtv and its a lot better, but thats not to say it wasn't excellent before.

I own a 32" HD lcd, yet have the 360 plugged into the living rooms 32" crt. The difference in game isn't huge enough to bother me day to day. I would by no means suggest not getting a 360 just because it won't be played through high definition. Just don't plug it in via composite!

Glad to hear the heat isn't an issue.

We have a 28" Wide but no HDTV as yet.

It'll be fine mate. Get that package and you won't be disapointed. Then in the future when you have the opportunity get yourself a HDTV and you'll realise even more what a great purchase the 360 was.

one last question, sorry mate dont mean to jack the thread, but if anyone knows of a way to use pc speakers with the 360 aswell as my monitor?

The VGA cable comes with connections, you can use that depending on your audio setup.

For me it just plugs straight into my amp.

i just have a basic creative 7.1 set up that plugs from the sub straight to the soundcard jacks, are there any connectors that have the availble jacks?

idealy id like to run my 360 without the pc on tho, is there no connector that can hook up a 360 to my pc display and speakers? or is that just no possible?

Don't you mean line-in? :)

1am. :o

Its actually called mic in on my onboard so that is my excuse. Either way the pink one. :p

It is possible, just use an adapter or two, when you buy the official cable it has a VGA connection and one normal 3.5mm jack on it.

You can plug that in with an adapter.
