FFVII coming to Steam?!?!

They need to fix the crappy low res it was locked at, replace the MIDI audio with the PS1 version audio and ideally allow use high res models/textures on the characters.

If they do the first 2 at least the mod scene will pick up and I would imagine we would get some high res stuff to add in manually.

Why do you say that?

He may have a PSP/PS3 where it's not 35 quid at all.
And who would spend 35 quid on a game this old? It's a good game 'n all, but I'm not buying a PS1 game for 35 quid.
Or even the PC version? If you really wanted to play this game, you'd use on of the modded versions that don't look like arse, or you'd emulate it on PC.

And then you've got the time frame.

PC versions can be hard to come by and in varied conditions. The game is legendary.

I've spent loads of money on old and sometimes rare games, not nearly as much as my best friend who found Panzer Dragoon Saga in brilliant condition for well over £100. And Nights, boxed, manual with 3D controller for stupid money.

These things happen.

I've still got the PC version boxed in my wardrobe. Back from a time when PC games actually came in proper boxes as standard... now it seems it has to be a 'Special Edition' for a game to come in a box for some reason!

Anywho, as long as they've made the game work properly in Win7, and have added proper high res support I'll be a happy bunny!

High res models (even just using the fight models would be good!) and proper CD music would be a nice surprise.

Rune was recoded for all O.S and rereleased recently, now this!? Lets hope they start bringing more old school games to the digital market, it is unjust to neglect amazing classics like these and force fans to go searching for ages to find beaten up, old copies. Bringing them to Digital will help with the classic market a ton, I'm so desperate for them to release Resident Evil 1 (preferably a Deadly Silence port, along with Resident Evil Remake & Zero), Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Code Veronica X all optimized for the latest O.S and possibly full HD remakes that can support up to 1080p.

You'd make so much money doing that, Capcom!

The old practise of boxing every PC game was best done away with in my opinion. Most of the time the box had no reason to be so big, all there was inside was the game in a disc holder and an instruction manual. If you had a lot of PC games the amount of space they took up was crazy.

This, some of the emulators are exceptionally good. Can tweak them to get much better graphics than the original PS1.
