Fiesta ST

Get yourself over to fiestastoc.com for loads of info and friendly advice. :)

I've just recently sold mine, but had her in standard guise, then with ITB's and then with a Supercharger. Was a hoot to drive!

Montune do some great tuning kits for the car if you are into that sort of thing, 165 kit, a 185 kit and the soon to be released 202 kit (i.e. stage 3).

In standard form, yeah underpowered for a 2.0l lump, but a good chasis with good feedback. Can push hard and it won't let go.

Things to look out for... hmmm lets try and remember... check the heated windscreen works well and that the wing mirrors heat up as well (rear heated windscreen operates the mirrors as well). Check the powerfold mirrors work (if applicable) and don't make clicking noises after being folded in fully.

Check the bluetooth works OK. What else... some need an ECU update and a tell tale sign is trouble starting from cold (i.e. revs seeking). Gear change should be nice and sharp, along with the breaks. Never heard of any rust problems or leaks. You may get some crunching when selecting reverse, so pop it into 3rd and then reverse to get around this.

Water can accumulate in the top of the drivers side suspension mount but this doesn't cause any major issues. Don't worry if you drive one and it sounds slightly "tappety", it's not the hydraulic followers, just to do with the fuel rail setup as far as people can tell (floating fuel rail?).

Think that's about it! Like I say, fiestastoc.com. Lovely bunch of people if you need more info. :)

I'd have thought under 3k @ 70mph on a 2.0 16v petrol was good.

What is the rallye, 1.3 or 1.6?

An s1 rallye is a 1.3, an s2 rallye has slightly longer gearing being just under 4k at 70 and is a 1.6. Even a Saxo VTR does 3k at 70 and they have horribly long gearing with some of the big power people using them to give a vmax of 160mph

Not sure about the fiesta ST, but I currently own a focus ST and it's a great car to drive and very relaxing.

The fiesta doesn't have anywhere near the same kind of power or setup, but I suppose the basics are similar :P

You'd be surprised how many owners have moved across to the Focus ST from the Fiesta ST on the owners club and then miss the little Fiesta. Been a fair few comments about how people miss the "chuckability" of the little Fez.
