Fifty Shades of Grey

I've read something like 50-100 pages. It's terribly written. I gave up before I even got to the raunch, it's that horribly written.

I've read a few of the raunchy parts and it sounds like something a 13 year old would write, but my girlfriend says the relationship between the two is the most intriguing part.

Young innocent girl meets billionaire who is good at everything and buys her stuff - in return allows herself to get fisted etc etc. Sounds really intruiging!

This woman's anger covers what should be the general opinion on the book http://cassandraparkin.wordpress.co...ngs-that-annoy-me-about-fifty-shades-of-grey/

My sister and I were reading through it on the train and couldn't get over how it just is page after page of mindless dithering, there was nothing erotic about the book to a point where it's embarrassing for humanity that this could be considered to be "smut".

I tried a little experiment on the way home the other week from work. The book is not any way my normal read opening it up on the train got some big flirty eyes from women in the 30's age bracket.

The book itself is just fit for the bin , I hated every word I read .

Says a lot about women who buy this book. None of it is good. Everything I thought about Twilight readers has been made fact by this book's success.

Guess you didn't reap the benefits of a booky-wook reading sexually charged Mrs eh? Sorry to hear that dude.

This novel took an idea I had a while ago and ran with it before I had the chance to.

Having read quite a bit of erotica I got the idea that what put women off erotica was the use of expletives and overly descriptive sexual words. If you could remove those - or better - replace them with more standard words to the same effect, you would have a bestseller.

This is exactly what's happened with 50 Shades. I've read some of it, it's not excellent literature by any stretch but I commend the author for getting her highly sexual novel out there and accepted. Proof that it's not the topic, it's the execution.

It's popular because it's re-branded Twilight fanfic. If it wasn't, it would never have got as big as it did.

Twilight worked on a very simple premise which has been recycled plenty of times before.

Just as you can use an A G D chord structure over and over and over again to make popular songs.

That doesn't refute my point. There is truckloads of women's erotica out there. This stood out because of the Twilight connection.
