With a poor October box office, some film executives are convinced that Halo 3 has kept movie audiences home, GamesIndustry.biz reports. And not that all their films were ****.

According to an Advertising Age article, total indusry ticket sales were only USD 80 million for the weekend of 5th October, down 27 per cent from the prior year.

Makes me laugh... surely it would be a different story if they had helped Bungie along with the Halo Movie?

Will games be the new "cinema" experience? Discuss :)

They're probably right. Crappy, overrated Hollywood blockbusters appeal to the same section of the population as crappy, overrated blockbuster games do, so there's bound to be conflict.

yeh don't look at the real cause, that the majority of movies just plain blow ...let's blame the no.1 scapegoat at the moment.

ban video games and global warming will just disappear.

I think this is great news. Shows that games are serious business now and are able to compete with other forms of entertainment.

I know that when I buy a game I'm physically unable to leave the house to watch a movie even if I've already bought a ticket for it. Once, I was stuck in the house for a week and couldn't get out - I had to live off of the stuffing in the cushions :( . They should ban games tbh
