Watched this last night. What a fantastic film, with the best soundtrack I have heard in years. If you enjoyed Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind you might like this.

Not a big fan of Garden State myself. I find it to be quite an 'empty' film.

Thats not to say that i didnt enjoy it, i just personally find it to be quite overrated.

Great film, loved the comedy in it too. The soundtrack is brilliant as well!

Definately watch Eternal Sunshine -- that's a good'un too.

Nothing much happens, but it's one of my favourite films. The soundtrack is near on perfect and the comedy is subtle yet hilarious.
Not for everyone, personally I really really like it.
Can't wait for Zach Braff to write/direct another film!

I have Garden State on DVD. I think the film is fantastic and so is the soundtrack :)

It was recommended to me by a couple of mates and sounded like the kind of film I'd really like, but having watched it I couldn't stand it! Barely made it to the end but worth watching once just to see what all the fuss is about.

Same here, I expected more tbh.

I think you have to be wary of all the Scrubs fans that knew it was going to be their favourite film ever, before it even came out :p (I know, i was almost one of them)

Has anyone seen The Last Kiss? I dont think it rate very well but i'm quite interested as not only is ZB involved, but the guy who co-wrote Crash and Million Dollar Baby. I really rated Crash, but i havent seen the latter although of course it won the Oscar(s).

same here. it reeked of 'LOOK LOOK, I CAN BE A SERIOUS ACTOR' from Zack Braff. i tried to like it but i just couldn't. he got stupid in series 5 of scrubs too.

I love it, may be I am at an age closer to the character he is portraiting, or may be not. But I find the film to be touching, poignant.

Now Elizabeth Town is a boring film, it's by Cameron Crowe as well (I love his previous work on Almost Famous). On so many levels it's the same kind of story. A semi sucessful guy who is coming back home for a funeral, meets a quirky young, beautiful lady in his journey. When he gets home he feels out of place, seeing old friends, old family from his the life he left behind. And with CC on the helm it's bound to have a cracking soundtrack, except although it has lots of good ingredients, it just doesn't mix together.

I've seen The Last Kiss (I'm a ZB/JD fan I'm afraid) and I thought the film was OK. Acting was good, plot easy enough to understand. I guess it'd be a lot more poignant to someone of that age or position in life though :)

Pretty much sums up how I feel about both movies. Garden State is one of my all time favourite movies and I can't stand most of Scrubs. It's just a great story, very well acted, funny and contains dialogue you might actually have with your friends.

Elizabethtown on the other hand was unbelievaly boring, smaltzy and just felt like a very poor Garden State imitation. I was really surprised as I've loved a lot of Cameron Crowe's other output, but this was just a chore to watch.

I've never watched Scrubs, but I loved Garden State... Doesn't go anywhere, but it doesn't need to- and it's beautifully put together. Never heard a film and its soundtrack go so well together either.

Warning- the Frou Frou song on the soundtrack might well be absolutely fantastic, but it's just a trick to make you buy the extremely lacklustre album :)
