Watched a rom com (Hitch) last night. Loved it, very funny etc. But he got the girl in the end. Watched Van Wilder today...great film once again he gets the girl.

Damn it its all lies. Yes i'm bitter and angry...but i wanna watch something young, funny, with a hot girl in it, and then he fails.

Damn films...all lies.
 
Is this a film discussion thread, or a whinging man-baby thread? :confused:


PS: I can't think of any films like that, and I watch a lot of films. I don't think the producers like to dwell on unhappy, realistic endings.
 
audience pleasure, people like resolutions.

try "the hitcher" - it's pretty funny, got a fair looking girl in it and then he fails!
 
Ah! Well I can't think of the exact sort of ending you're after, but I can tell you about a film that does have a rather surprising, unexpected ending involving a romantic couple: Miracle Mile. He does win her affection...but circumstances are such that he doesn't get to enjoy it for long.

I wish i was last action hero..then i could be in that world!

ah yes...i shall watch city of angels...the ending is sad isn't it?
 
cheers for the reminder of the hitcher, just had a wee browse for it and turns out theres a ramake due out on the 19th

trailer available at imdb

not too sure what to think, looks ok but most remakes are mince, no where near as good as the original
 
"Swingers" is a pretty good film to watch. ;)

"Match Point" might also be interesting from a viewpoint of the way films usually go, and this doesn't...
