Some of you might remember this thread almost a year ago.
Well, my buy was heavily delayed due to various reasons, but in the end I went for an RX8. I've driven one on a UK road and even did a few laps in one around Thruxton rack track. It has amazing handling and power, I found all this worry about lack of torque to be a non-issue. This is a seriously rapid car, and that's having come from someone who played with http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17687417&highlight=carrera ]this for a week. While it doesn't compare to the Porsche's torque it still moves very quickly and without effort.
I like the fact it is the current model wheras if I bought a type-r i'd have the old model. At least Mazda are sticking with the current model having just released the RX-8 PZ.
I considered a 330 but I didn't want high miles and last year's model. Nothing wrong with them though, i'm sure they're solid.
I've been watching autotrader for months. As soon as a good car would pop up it would be gone, almost instantly. I had one occasion where I was on my way to see a great one and got a call saying it had been sold
seems the market is hot for the RX-8.
So the other day I had a look on autotrader, didn't see anything special. I thought i'd check back to check one detail on one of the adverts. I noticed a new one. Looked great. Brilliant Black, 20k miles, etc.
Went down there, bought it
. Was a guy due to come see it right after me. Looks like what happened to me once before with an RX-8 sale happened to someone else!
Put the deposit down and pick it up later this week.
So, meet my car for the next two years or so.
