At long last the search has ended and picked myself up a new car today. Same as before only this time 214 Si and not iS lol. 97R Rover 214 Si, comes with Electric windows, sunroof and mirrors, aircon, RCL, PAS and ABS. It's only got 36,000 miles and came with a full service history. I paid £1,795 for it and I am chuffed as hell.

It was back in October that some silly old cow drove into my old one and wrote it off and December I got my money. After a month of searching for cars I finally found what I wanted :)

Just wanted to show everyone, I know its a rover and pipe and slippers and all but it moves pretty good for a 1.4 :)

Cheers
Steve

You paid nearly 2 grand for a 9 year old Rover 200?

Nice car but IMHO the whole point in these is exceptional value for monmey, that age of 200 should have been under a grand, Teslas was free.

Make sure you are careful with it though, 36k on a 9 year old car is worryingly low, under 4k a year, and the fact its probably never done a journey that hasn't been completed before the engine warmed up would make me very wary.

Yeah lots of things that are not so good about low mileage, I value your opinion as I know you know lots of stuff about used cars <-- proper engrish. After a month of searching this was definately the best value one I found with spec/mileage/condition. Probably could have got something better for the money I know but I wanted a Rover as I loved my last one to bits and only had it a few months :( The simple matter is you wouldnt find one like this for under a grand, even if it should have been.

And I forgot the pictures heh taken with me w800i they arent the best but they will have to do.

I don't think I could justify £1800 on a Mk3 Rover.

Mine is pretty fun to drive. Thats only because of the incredibly crap tyres and i am planting my foot all the time (have stopped doing this as the fuel is disappearing, £65 in a weel and havnt even done 500miles yet! :( )

Something like this seems a better buy: http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WW...category=CARS&channel=CARS&id=200603221186606

But it looks very tidy what you have.

I have a few faults with mine that I am going to sort as I have a very very firm offer from a very good friend to buy the car off of me for £400.

I think £400 is a good price. The car has 110k on it but seems to run ok, gearbox played up once but since has been fine. Has a JVC CD player.

I need to replace the window mechanisms in both front doors, a new aerial, somehow cure all the dash rattles as they are driving me insane! I cannot for the life of we work out how to stop them!

The car actually handles pretty well, I wouldn't mind having a go in the MG version, ZR. ZT. ZS which ever it is, i'm not too sure. They should come up with more imaginative names and stop rehashing....but late for that now though.

Also, you car has a 16v engine which what ever people say is known for HGF so keep a close eye on it. My 8v lump doesn't really have any HGF issues

Glad you're happy with it though as that's all that really matters.
