Finding a driver for a unidentifiable card

I've got a laptop to reinstall but the PCMCIA wireless card has no model number on it but does have a make, is there a program I can install that will be able to check the device ID and work out what driver I need from that? (Assuming deviceID's are unique?).

google a bit of software called "unknown device identifier" should be able to bring up the make and model by the device and vendor ID
