Anyone got any recommendations for web sites that have jobs abroad? Mainly IT related. I fancy a change and wanted to see what was out there. Google brings up a few but mainly tosh and i swear they just make half of them up.

Any ideas welcome

Websites of multinational corporations would be a good start. I'm sure you can think of some...Google, Microsoft, Cisco, HP/EDS etc.

Could always try the likes on Monster.co.uk and just set your location search to whichever country you want to work in.

It's how I got my job here in the Czech Republic

Let's say you get a job in Some_nice_warm_country.

In Some_nice_warm_country's internet forums you will see - bloody foreigners they come and steal our jobs!!!

Any specific country you have in mind?
(the above is only a joke)

I got mine in another country by knowing people already there. Sorry, not much help but it's always easiest if you already have contacts or someone who knows the ropes.

I don't know if this site helps you.
But it's how I got my first job there.

Interested in this too, I am planning on relocating in the near future. Most places I am finding are not very welcoming unless you already have a job or other purpose like marriage lined up prior to you arriving, so I better start preparing in good time :o

There are some ex-pat websites somewhere with jobs listed for different countrys, I try to find one in a moment.

The two expat forums I joined were full of downer-types that basically said it's impossible... but somehow they did it?! Just warning you so you don't get put off the idea. If you're really set on emigrating you'll be able to do it :)

I'm emigrating this summer, yay!

My brother and sister-in-law took a year off work to travel the world, being pharmacists they got offered jobs almost everywhere they went - in the end they turned down Hawaii and moved to Australia - fully sponsored by their new employer etc.

So basically, going out there on holiday and networking like crazy would probably be as good a way as any other.
