Nope, just I know a number of smokers who swore blind smoking out the window made a blind bit of difference to the smell in their rooms...

It was a reasonable question.

My girlfriend swears her car doesn't smell because she smokes out the window; it does smell, she just can't smell it. No matter how you do it, theres always going to be some smoke in the car, especially so that which you expel from your mouth. Sure, you can probably mitigate it, but its surely a choice between some and more, not none and some.

Still, arguing that point with a smoker will never get you anywhere. ;p

Actually what I quoted had little relevence, it was more to do with the contention. :)

wow you really have issues with people who think smoke smells. did you try to cover up smoking at school and all the smart kids who didn't start smoking tell you how pointless and daft you were?

It only makes a difference if you create a draught and actually manage to drag the smoke out of the room before it clings to fabrics and such. Sitting on a couch on the opposite side of the room with a tiny window cracked open and a few people puffing away will make no difference.
