Firefox keeps changing my UK homepage to Russian!!!??!?

I hid my IP on a forum for a bit of a laugh, nothing incriminating or dodgy just to play a prank.

After I had done it I uninstalled the 3 day trial software but now my firefox keeps reverting my proxy config, even after I set it to direct connection, everytime I open firefox it changes back and it is doin my head in..

What file would cause this to happen?

I believe it is goin through a russian as google opens on the russian site everytime!

Any help would be great.

Spybot, Adaware and assorted other spyware scanners will be useful.

ive ran them all and it cant locate them!!!!

Any other ideas?

Firefox safe mode would be worth trying too.

i have done the firefox safe mode start and it has solved absolutely nothing, thanks for the heads up though!

Nuke your profile (well, move it somewhere else) - close Firefox, open %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\profiles, then move the folder within to somewhere else and fire Firefox back up.
You can reimport your bookmarks from the old profile.
