I have around 3-4k to spend on a first car, im 17 going 18 soon, i can't for the life of me choose what car is the car for me, complete noob with cars really, obviously. i like the ford focus zetec but its so hard finding a nice one with low mileage for 3-4k :( any suggestions on what to get or opinions would be great. Cheers.

Don't rule any car out, bigger cars can be cheaper to insure.

If you have a parent with full NCD stick them on as a 2nd driver, it'll reduce the insurance.

What you after,
big/medium/small
gadgets
power
cheap to run

id like one that is nippy, fairly big a fair amout of space inside including gadgets etc air con is a must really.

i dont want a car to be more than i can handle etc ill be doing a bit of town driving and some motorway miles i drove an almera for a bit but then drove a corsa and felt i enjoyed the feel of the corsa much more but im not entirly sure id buy a corsa.

Corsa's don't handle. A great city car, but forget fun.

the next on my list would be a VTR as they seem easy to find with low mileage for a fair price, just wondering what the average quote would be on one

i quite fancy a MG ZR fairly cheap to pick up now not quite sure about this either would love to test drive one will keep looking.
