I failed my first test. I managed to get 7 minor and 4 Serious. As you can imagine I felt pretty low. the examiner I had was not very friendly to say the least..
On my second test in March. Surprise surprise, the same examiner came out. I was determined to make amends for my first fiasco and give him a pleasant drive, although he didn't deserve it.
I drove what I thought was pretty well until it came to the dreaded left reverse round a corner. As I went round I felt the back wheel touch the kerb so stopped. I gathered my thoughts and asked "can I try and adjust it please?" The examiner replied "you do what you think is right" At this I thought 'what the heck' and went forward, adjusted the wheels and reversed back pretty straight close to the kerb. "Drive on" he said.
As you can imagine, I felt pretty terrible at this point and continued for the rest of the test as calmly as possible.
At the test centre, I sat there dreading the worse, then he turned to me and floored me with a pass. Apparently, if I had continued back or left the car where it was on that corner I would have failed but my decision to re-adjust saved me. I ended up with a single minor for control.
I am posting this for you to see that even if you make the odd mistake, don't throw the towel in, keep your head you can recover from it and pass.
Best of luck and try to stay calm.
