What are your thoughts on that?

More info & pics here

How much do they weigh?

How do the brakes get air flow to help cool them down because i can see that getting very hot in there and cooking them?

I can see these being very good Aerodynamically speaking though :p

Couple of things.....

* The fact they will be covered in hot brake dust in seconds
* They melt at just 273 C, which next to a red hot rotor will be achieved very quickly
* They block airflow to from the brakes, see the last point
* They are a weak as a bottom at an all Summer Ghey Love'in
* They cost $2000... EACH
* They will show up your powerdrums even more

Still, how long before we see the first Corsa with 18" outside a fast food drive in?

T-10 weeks (cheap shipping for US)

Oh forgot to say more naff than spinners and I would like to burn any car with them on, with the owners inside, then crushed, then minced and melted down, before being blasted into the sun...

For a show-car, or a brake manufacturer's static demo car, then I think they'll do the job perfectly.

For everyday use - not a chance, though I'm sure we'll all see them in use at some stage, and do our best to point and laugh accordingly.

I'd go with that.

Someone posted these on here ages ago, probably 2 years ago now im talking though, so its hardly a repost :p

The wheels are pretty much useless for everyday use, they will be black within a few hours of use.

I'm sure we had a topic on this about a year ago (or so). The debate back then was if they were real or a photoshop.
I think we all concluded that they were real, but could only be realistically used for a show car for all the previously mentioned issues.

WTF, do you drive up the motorway at the limit or greater with your foot on the brake ?? I doubt many brakes would be running remotely close to 273C, the average car would have disintergrated the pads and boiled the fluid much above 150C

I can see them catching on - not in clear, clear form though, I bet soon we'll see tinted versions of them where you won't see brake dust, and hybrids, perhaps even slightly illuminated from the inside....
