Ok so I got a 400D for christmas and have been lurking around this forum for a while without actually posting any pictures, today though I decided that getting some C&C would be good for me so here goes:-

Very little PP done, just added borders and a bit of level tweeking. Any advice much appreciated...

Hello! Well done for the first posting of pictures! I remember it being quite scary. Keep at it and keep looking at other peoples work and you'll find you progress quickly I have a little C&C, i'm not a pro though so take it with a pinch of salt!!!

#1 consider the background when shooting, in this photo it's quite cluttered which detracts from the focus of the shot.

#2 his face is completely in the shadows, try lighting from different angles and see how that works out.

#3 A nice DOF affect and the b&w conversion looks good, however i'm not quite sure about the crop.

#4 There doesn't really seem to be a point of interest in this shot and the background is out of focus.

#5 I can't see it.

#6&7 Good use of the rule of 1/3s. Also the exposure seems good and has brought out the nice colors and shapes in the sky. However there doesn't really seem to be a point of interest here. Maybe try the shot again where you can see more horizon/buildings/landscape.
