The one tip of improvement I would make is that you should maybe trying using a smaller appeture next time, try and capture a bit more of your cat into focus.

At work I use a milota dynax 7d (lovely cam) but havent got the disposable cash to get myself a dslr, so have to make do with the point and clicks with manual modes
