Flash + Wide angle

Obviously can't use the flash with my sigma 10-20, will a flash gun overcome this as its higher than the onboard, or will i have to lens mount it?

Flashguns have focal lengths too, mine goes down to 24, so leaves major darkness around the edges at 10mm.

So is it only possible to bounce the flash when using a wide angle lens?

I dunno, havent seen a 10mm flashgun before, but I quite honestly havent looked very hard. I bounce mine, but sometimes the effect of the dark edging is quite fun

Most flash guns have a built in wide angle defuser that goes down to about 18mm I think. This should cover most of your wide end coverage. The dark sides.... what is your intended application?

to cover really wide angles with flash, you need to get an off camera solution. Or use a less wide angle, and step back a bit.
