Hello good people of the internet

So I'm trying to flash my HD5850's with an edited BIOS (Edited with RBE)

I've done this before by putting some windows 98 files on a CD-R, ATiFlash and the orginal BIOS aswell as the edited BIOS on a memory stick. Then setting the Boot priority to boot from the CD-ROM first. Then I flashed the card with the files on the memory stick.

No idea why I cant boot from the memory stick, I use a app called Bootable USB Drive Creator Tool to format the memory stick, make it DOS bootable and link to these windows 98 files, But it just doesn't want to boot, Just boot's into windows via my HD.

Anway I lost the CD I used before so I got another and burnt the windows 98 files onto the CD, set boot priority to CD-ROM, but it didn't work, So I went to Boot menu, chose CD-ROM, but still no joy

So I can't get into DOS basically, and I heard flashing in windows (might give my neighbours an eye full)..........is dangerous.

Any idea's, suggestions.... Help me please! :p

I had an issue like this and a fair few others have- make sure that you are booting from the usb pen in your mobo bios- it might not just be setting 'removable device' you might actually have to set it to boot off the usb pen ahead of your primary hd.

Its easy for it to look like its right, that is what sorted me out when that was happening.

All sorted now, Even though I was setting the priority to boot from USB-HDD first it was still booting from the HDD, So I just removed my HDD, restarted and it booted into DOS, Flashed the second card first, checked that it worked ok, then flashed the first card and now I have both cards at 950/1200 1.225V, powerplay works fine and I don't have to mess around with MSI AB anymore YAY! lol.
