Hi there,

I have my computer plugged into my TV at its native resolution and 60Hz.

The image I get a constant highly visible flicker.

I have been told by a friend that this might be due to the cable between two being quite long or of low quality?

Could this be the case?

Anything else i can try? Settings maybe?

TV in question is: Goodmans GTVL27W23HD.

Thanks.

Mines does the same mate, don't have a clue whats causing it.

Im using a crappy dvi to vga adapter and think its that, about to change it will let you know how it looks after.

I have just bought a Belkin Gold Series 5m cable for ~£10 and it didn't seem to solve the problem.

Ironic - it says on the cable: "The Ultimate in Cable Technology"

I currently have a dell cable and a belkin extension cable together which makes around 4m all together and that seems to work fine.

EDIT:

When i plug the belkin cable into a 15" tft monitor - i get a blurred ghosted image.

You do mention what resolution you are using. Anything other than 1360*768 may give a scaled (and flickering) picture.

I know this thread is old 2007!(searched via google) but i'm having the same issue with my dad's new laptop and 40"+ tv, I've plugged the vga cable from the laptop into tv put the tv into pc mode and the tv screen flickers like crazy showing the windows desktop. It looks as if the HZ or resolution is too high but it doesn't matter what resolution I use on that TV even with the laptop display turned off and directed to the tv it's still bad.
