The rain has totally stopped here now and its sunny. Just in time as the Olympic torch relay went through my village an hour ago.

We got flooded bad last night in hebden bridge next to river calder,
flooding started in todmorden at 8pm river burst the banks, then 9pm in mytholmroyd then 9:30 in hebden bridge then 10pm in sowerby bridge.
all the roads and train tracks was flooded no transport (apart from in my big jeep with snorkle
)
Today theres a foot of mud everywhere, rubbish, sewerage the lot..
here are some pictures i took:
Calis bridge picture taken on the bridge, river which is usually a foot deep. 7pm.
Calis bridge 8pm road starting to flood you can see the bridge on the left i was on with the last picture
Calis bridge 9pm fully gone underwater.
Mytholmroyd playing fields 8pm, the river on the left you can usually walk through about 1 and half foot deep year around.

dam is that hebden bridge, was there not long ago!
Never stopped raining yesterday till about 7pm

I live near the River Wye. It has flooded over onto the meadows next to it, but our flood defenses have stopped it going any further, luckily!

Haha you noob - the Thames barrier only stops flooding in the event of a North Sea surge - it does nothing if the water comes from the other direction!
Ah well. At least you'll all get the pictures when we're sitting in gallons of river water.

I drive over the River Calder (Burnley) on the way home, and it was very, very high yesterday. Luckily we're on a hill!
