Focus RS -Would you? And which colour

if you are going for it.. go for black/white or blue.. green looks kinda bad.. its personal choice tho.. not a thing to ask for forum members as everyone has different opinion :) but as i've said i would never waste 28k on one :)

I think the RS is a fantastic car.

However, you might want to consider a tuned ST. As someone has already stated, you can have the Mountune conversion for around £1200, this gives you an indicated 260BHP, however most of the time it is much more, and it will give you a car that is just as fast as the RS (and actually quicker to 60).

I would, but only at the right price.

At the kind of prices they're commanding new, i'd rather have an ST for around £10K, tune it a bit, and still have a load left over.

ST3 with the ST260 upgrade from Mountune. All the fun, you keep the warranty and shave £5k or so off your outlay. For an idea of what Evo thought, click here.

Cheers Goliath, I've seen the Evo tests, seems the STs are great for tuning. I have been debating the tuned ST vs RS in my head, just got to balance all the factors such as looks, residuals after a year or two (I imagine the RS will hold its value a little better than the ST). Guess the question is, if we are talking new - is the RS worth the extra 5K over a tuned ST. At the end of the day I think it will be a matter the heart decides rather than the head! I wish I never saw or heard the damn thing! ;)

I've looked there too matey, seems a facelift ST-2 (2008 onwards) with less than 10k miles can be had for about 13.5K. A great car at that money!

Know what you mean, the moment the Mk1 came out I thought "I've got to get me one of those:D" Definitely the heart winning, and I don't regret it for a moment, but back then the relevant ST was a bit of a damp squib. Given the choice now I'd probably go for what I suggested, simply because the ST is more useable on a day to day basis - commuting whilst your fillings are being rattled out is not fun.

Well it wouldn't even matter to me if it was pre-facelift. Early ST's can be had for well under £10K if you look, i've even seen them go for under £9K.

RS Fords have always held their money remarkably well so what's with all this talk of OMG DEPRESHATION?

Because for some reason the new Focus RS has become a car that a lot of people want and have bought(hence the HUGE waiting list for one).

Most other RS fords were only bought by Ford nuts not your average joe bloggs ;)
