Focus ST170

I am still looking for a car, looking at a ST170 with 40k mile I was looking at 2.0 Zetec 40K mile but was thinking of getting an ST170 for an extra £1500. Would save me having to mod it i.e alloys, sticking tat on etc.

Also why is it code named ST170?

Anybody on here got an ST170 to give a short review.

ST stands for Sports Technology

Reasonable car I understand. Don't expect a sports car though. Its still a Focus only a bit faster and a bit better looking.

the ST170 is a well equiped focus, with a 2.0 170 PS engine. From personal experience its not fast, but it handles well, and goes reasonably well for what it is. Its no CTR/Leon Cupra R tho.. thats what the RS was

It's a warm focus, not a hot hatch. Having said that, it's a nice place to spend time and given that the Focus is one of the best handling cars in the class it's good fun to drive as well. The only major downside is the insurance - Group 15 compared to group 8 (IIRC) for the 2.0 is a hell of a jump for reasons no-one can understand.
