news again, wow that soon came around

decided I couldnt wait any longer to get try this 680 so swapped my 290 for the gtx680 that colin kindly donated to me

115k ppd at the minute so still pretty good numbers, its quiet aswell for a reference card

also another plus here, the amd card was crashing when running a core 17 and trying to watch a video, but the NVidia doesn't crash, awesome

very happy

Foldings getting addictive! I have a budget for a new 32" 4k monitor but now debating whether to pick up a third card instead haha!

4k is very nice. maybe get a 28" tn panel and put the rest towards a gpu for folding?

Already got a 28" panel, its been a little too small for my CAD work. I went from a Dell IPS 30" to 4k a while back.

Might have to read up properly on water cooling and see what I can achieve. One card always seems to run 12 degrees hotter than the other for some reason.

This is driving me nuts, 460s removed and 970 in, but it wouldn't recognise the slot in FAH. So I uninstalled and reinstalled it, now it's working and folding but the notification doesn't appear in the systray so I can't access the advance control?!! Anybody have any ideas, I've reinstalled about 3 times now, oddly the uninstaller doesn't work. I've also tried installing on my SSD and on a normal drive but no difference either. I've tried manually removing the software and the appdata files but still not working. :confused:

Windows 10 BTW, all was working fine with the 460s.

Try creating a shortcut on the desktop and put the following path and this should open advanced control: "C:\Program Files (x86)\FAHClient\FAHControl.exe"

You could then pin that to the start menu and/or taskbar. Is the icon visible when you right click the task bar and click properties-customise notification area?

In the notification area has FAHClient.exe but no icon, it was turned off and I did turn it on before but still nothing.

Thanks that has opened it, but only when I ran as administrator. Very strange but at least I can turn the CPU folding off now.

I've only just started again and it's at 258K at the moment and climbing

. I'll give it a couple of days for the card to settle in then I'll start overclocking as well.

I was going to leave one 460 in there but it wasn't picking up the drivers and it's probably not worth it for 15k and the faff and heat involved. Now there is a space where I'll be tempted to get something else

I know very odd, anyway your workaround has worked so cheers for that, I hardly ever look at it so it's not a big issue now I've configured everything.

ok then. maybe try re paste the hotter card or it could just be a less efficient card.
