You've done well to get to a million so quickly, I remember my first million took ages!

As far as I know the only way to increase the speed of bigadv is to overclock (unless you can get a dual or quad cpu machine which is what some of the others have), what speed is your i7 running at?

I have a i7 2600K at 4Ghz and it takes about 2-3 days to complete a unit.

2-3 days continuesly? or now and again.

Heh bigadv takes a while!

It does depend on the project that its crunching, but it usually only when you get to dual hex cores can you get them down to sub 1 day.

I just downloaded a 6900 (R40, C3, G12) on weebeastie which is a single hex core (i7 [email protected]) also crunching seti@home on the gpus. And its giving me a 1d 20h ETA. Each % of the WU takes 26 minutes. But it has no gfx cards to get in its way, on the flip side its not a dedicated cruncher and doubles up as my VMware host.

Gemini which has twice the cores available (similar overclock) is taking just under 12 min per % frame or just over 20 hours to complete a work unit.

Everyones system is different, it also depends on what else you do on the computer. My 2600K @ 4.6Ghz is about 2 min/frame slower than the i7 970 in weebeastie. It is also burdened by a GTX460 crunching SETI.

im wondering what your electricity bill is like :P Its kinda depressing they take so long wish you had less points and they where quicker for the impatient people like me :D

Not as bad, actually if you run multiple GPU's it eats the leccy faster than just running bigadv alone. And the worst offender leccy wise isn't on my bill :)

But if you want quicker returns but less Points per day, just run regular -smp -advmethods work units.

Got my RMA replacement card back

There's no 6pin power connector, looks like a green edition :(
I'll try it out later and see what the clocks are but either way its going on the bay.

Yip greenies, I got two of them, they clock ok but are seriously old hat for crunching now :)

In other news, I might just crack 300K today  knew it was going to be a big dump day but

On the flip sided Gemini just picked up a P2684 which is knocking its PPD down from 150K+ to 90K :(

Ive moved over two i7 860's from smp to bigadv should pick me up about 25k ppd extra in folding:) but the only reason i can do this is two of my 5970's have died:mad:

Also got three 2684's on the go:(

On the 9800GT's mine are clocked at 478/1601/680 core/shader/mem. They push about the same PPD as a Q6600@Stock (4.5-4.6K) depending on WU

Cheers Biffa :D

I forgot to note down the clocks but the core was 555 not sure what the shader and mem was, on my old card i run 768 odd on the core.

Stock cooler was quieter than my old card, but I'm definitely going to sell the card because of PCB layout i can't fit the Akasa Vortexx NEO.

Yeah, I clocked the core and mem down whilst clocking the shaders up. No point pumping out unnecessary heat. :)

Hmm is the Neo the blue plastic one? I've got one on mine but not sure if tis the same pcb as yours. Well good luck with the sale, is it going towards something beefier? :D

i5 760 @4ghz and a 5850.
Only started recently, putting another gpu into the computer in another while.
Going to start folding on my home server as well once i build it :D
