The credit you see there is with the bonuses. Both WUs have 8955 credit before bonus. 13 minutes difference in TPF has a marked effect on the final credit/PPD.

However, I may have already solved my problem. After my post I decided to stop the client again and watch Proc Explorer for a little while, just to double-check nothing really was running.

Just as I was about to give up MSN messenger started using about 10% CPU [MSN hadn't changed, no one had signed in/out and no one was talking to me]. After a few minutes it was still at 10%. So, it looks like MSN intermittently uses a crap load of CPU. I uninstalled it and reinstalled the older version of MSN [before they broke it with their social network crap]. CPU idle usage pretty much zero.

I shall see in about an hour if this is cured! It just goes to show, it is worth testing your CPU usage a few times! :p

Woooooo!

Looks like MSN was the culprit after all! PPD is almost identical on both machines now. :D

Also, double Woooo, as I just spotted this on EOC:

Top 5 bishes! :p

shhhhhhhhhhh.........................

loudbob coming thro' - still waiting for things to settle, but at least my average is upto 47k ppd and rising quickly......

Unfortunatly for me (but good for you) my i7 bigadv has lost it's bonus - I think it may have something to do with me inadvertantly pulling the power cord out - as it's now saying:

[22:13:45] - Working with standard loops on this execution.
[22:13:45] - Previous termination of core was improper.

OOOOOOOPPPPPPPPSSSSSSS!!!!!!

I have something up my sleeve that may push me over 100K. No promises or timescale. I am only mentioning it to give a few people something to think about! :p

And no, it isn't SR-2. That is a few months away at least!

I think I'd be disowned if I brought another PC into the house.......

Best just fill up my RE3 with 580's........after I pay for the 50" 3dtv I just got :D

Good thing you found out the cause of your low PPD Sirius. Just watched taskmanager for a couple of minutes and an entry for "Bsock.exe" was popping up for 30-60secs every couple of minutes. After some googling its part of Utorrent and is undeeded so I just renamed the exe.

Am at a bit of a loss regarding adv tasks, is it right you have to complete so many units before getting bonuses, looking at a snippet of hfm net am i getting 24000pday for teh adv units or 24000 for the whole task.
Appreciate the help as you know it takes very little to "warp my fragile little mind" :)

Yes I think you have to return 10 work units within the deadlines and have a high completion rate.

I think you can fold the normal A3 units until you get the bonus then switch to bigadv to save time.

edit - I should probably say I don't fold bigadv and just remember reading this so if one of the bigadv experts could confirm? I don't want you to quit mid unit and lose loads of work!

Morning Mr SiriusB, thanks for that i am using gpu tracker so should i just untick the enable big adv box, the add v methods box and the add verbosity 9 box on the left and that'll let me do regular wu's.
Should i leave the adv methods box ticked next to gpu's?
How will i know once i have done enough work to get the bonuses - how will it show so i can switch back to adv.

Sorry to bug you all first thing on a monday morning :o:o:o

Never mind that anyways i seen how you "sidetracked" the question......so gizza clue on your project x :)

Correct. Remove bigadv and add advmethods. Verbosity 9 can stay no matter what, that just affects the logging. advmethods can stay on the GPUs.

To qualify for the bonus you need to fold 10 WUs before the deadline. With an i7 that is probably 4 or 5 days of folding - unless you have more than one SMP client. I don't know if GPU WUs count towards the bonus.
