Folding@Home News 3rd - 10th December 2010

Maybe you just scared the **** out of it when you stripped it and blew it out? :D

Lol just had this image in my head of the following senario:

CPU - Jesus motherboard what was that?!

MB - It's ok CPU, FN's just got the air compressor out again!

CPU - meh, wish he'd warn us, talk about brown pants, give me 5min, then we'll boot.

:p

Edit: such a dirty mind Speed :p, that seriously sucks though FN :(

Ouch tough call, there again rma is going to take a bit i guess it boils down to can you live with yourself while your without or do you do a Jekyll and Hyde in which case sod it and order a new board today lol :)

I want to play with some intel kit I just cant justify the cost. new board is being ordered today. The missus needs the computer for coursework and such. The WC is going now and I may stop folding for a while.

Yay Intel all the way, hmmm it just so happens :D

Santas been am so happy i could poop. Tis a bit dusty, sound enough looking but dilemmas allready. Wanted to put existing gubbins in it to get a feel for it but said gubbins are in a haf x which is great for air cooling, sure it has 3 x 140 on the front and the side is just a mesh panel wotsitthingummy but would it cope with 4 gpu on air until New Years Eve?
Answers on a postcard please :)

Theres only one way to find out involves Screwdriver, sweat, tears, cuts, blood and a cuppa :D

Aw man I think one of my 260's just died :(

Device manager is saying: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
I tried updating drivers etc but still nothing.

Clearly I cursed it by stroking them in the other thread!

This is where having water cooling sucks as I don't have time to drain and rebuild the loop without it at the moment to test it elsewhere :( I'll just have to leave it's little corpse in there until Sunday.

What kind of a person are you to leave it's poor little corpse out there getting cold oh "untill sunday" i ought to report you RSPCGPU...disgracefull ;):)

Sorry to hear that Mr Dekez :( but there is an apparent glut of decent cards on mm at the moment if it's unfixable and funds permit.

:D

I do feel a bit guilty leaving him in there, my second screen staring at me blank, reminding me of what I've done :p

I'm not too fussed, I was going to sell one in the New Year, so I'm £50 worse off to fund my i7 build but these things happen. I've been very lucky with gear so far so I guess it was going to happen sooner or later.
