Got a nice load of BIG pointers at the moment. :D

Been swapping cells with Mr Berserker today. Think he may well move in properly tomorrow.

Nice stats as usual Rich, thanks.

Fold on team............

My folding status

The opteron 175 is folding approx 6hrs/day
A64 3200+ @ 2.2 folding approx 6hrs/day
Sempron 3000+ @ 3300+ speeds folding approx 6hrs/day
P3 733 folding approx 6hrs/day

Hoping to modify the opteron machine so its quiet enough to do 12 or 24/7.
Currently both cores are half way through 188 pointers.

After quite some time neck and neck, i'm pleased to announce impending stompage of Victorian Star and Martin H. Its been nice folding with you, but i've bigger fish to fry!

I think theres a bit of a team revival going on, our production is starting to rise again. :p

Folding for OcUK
Production down again. I just hope the machines at work can get some of these nice double gromacs woos. Production will be down significantly next week as its half term and im going to be messing around with web filtering software.

Welcome to all the new members and thanks again rich for the news.

Hey fellas, I'm doing a bit on small tweaks applicable to all operating systems.

Can you guys please read that over and tell me if anything there is patently false?:D

Also, have you any additions for that area? I know some of the tweaks sound like voodoo magic but some people swear by them. Have any of you your own voodoo magic suggestions?

You BOINC fellows can get in on this as well becasue I'm sure there are some tricks that are applicable to all DC projects.

Someone donate Joe42 a nice heatsink, that Opty's worth 800ppd with the right WUs ;)
Someone explain to Joe42 why his Scythe ninja, arguably the words best aircooling heatsink, clamped firmly to his cpu with arctic silver 5, it not allowing him to get a decent overclock and a decent nights sleep, or indeed either of those things. :D

You didn't think i'd have any old lump of metal sitting on that thing did you? ;)

To solve the noise issue i shall ne suspending my harddisks and replacing the fan in my psu.
To solve the cooling issue i shall be re-applying thermal paste and getting extremely annoyed if the thing gets above 45. This is no ordinary heatsink ya know...

Hmm.. what is your full load temp?

(edit) Ah, 45 - ish. 45c at full load is not bad at all bearing in mind you have two 1MB cores folding away under there ;) Although it is an impressive-looking HS!

47 with the fans turned down and only the raptors and *** realpower making a noise.
While that isn't extremely hot, i think its hotter than it should be at only 2.5 with 1.42v.

Edit: yeah, its 45 with some noise, 47 without.

Exactly what is expletive about the word 'the'? How i love the automatic censoring. ;)

***!
Wierd!

I think i must have applied my arctic silver 5 incorrectly. It says on the website that it should not be spread over the heatspreader, which seems ridiculous to me as the entire heatspreader gets hot and should make contact with the heatsink. Instead you apply a small blob, whack the heatsink on it and hope it spreads itself around.

It actually does spread itself around very well. I guess the pressure of the heatsink forces it to spread out.

Aye, that was to stop the spammers in GD who enjoyed using 't e h' as a replacement for the real word, as in 'OMG OcUK are t3h best!'

I always drop a wee dollop onto the IHS then spread it down to about ten thousandths thick using a rasor blade. I dunno. Seems to work very well.
Well thats exactly what i did and i don't think its worked very well at all. Although i didn't get the heatsink on in one go, had to rock it around a bit before i got the clips in. 2nd time lucky perhaps...
