Food Quality/choice

Back in England for a week and I'm visiting each local supermarket to see how it is here.
I gotta say Aldi seems to be really competitive prices but the range is limited.

Tesco seems to have stickers every where boasting they price match Aldi....

Amazed how much sugar free drinks cost now and heinz tomato ketchup 6 quid... What the f? Tesco price... Lol

Gonna go to Asda today lol rock and roll lifestyle. I know they used to have a hand made pizza counter hope it's still available..... Bet COVID killed it though.

Fresh vegetables so cheap here compared to "home" I eat so much celery in the UK lol.
I refuse to pay the Swedish price :p

The war has likely also played a part. Pushing prices up for certain ingredients then means some food supply lines get stopped in favour of others that use similar ingredients.

That's one of the ways Aldi keep their prices low generally just one type of each products rather than 4 or 5 different brands of the same thing and less of the slower selling more specialist type of products unless they've got it in as a special.

Fresh pizza counters are still there in my local Asda and Morrisons so you should be able to indulge your rock and roll lifestyle :D

I find quality of fruit and veg in the supermarkets around here to be completely abysmal. I'm amazed they're allowed to sell some of it. That said, we're very lucky to have a proper old-fashioned greengrocer 5mins down the road so we can go there once or twice a week.

I have to admit I've been finding certain gluten free priducts seem to become more challenging to find. But for me I seem to be finding fruit and vegetables quality seems to have dropped aswell as what others have mentioned about stock in shops.
