old firm this weekend and the atmosphere albeit in a crap stadium will be intense. nothing like a derby in Glasgow. to get the full appreciation of it you need to be sat near the segregation. full grown men shouting horrible abuse to the guy 10 feet away from them for a solid 2 hours. they maybe looked at the pitch once to make sure they had turned up to the right venue.

what a shame a bit of karma then, he is a sly dirty player was gonna get caught back at some point.

he had a bit of a dirty streak in him under Lennon but it was completely removed by Delia and never resurfaced.

he's had 2 straight red cards in 10 years in the domestic league and 2 double yellow red cards.

he's actually been booked more in the past 2 seasons than he ever did under lenny when he was at his worst. it's been farcical how his intensity and aggressive in your face play is being confused for being dirty. whereas certain elbow mc gee strikers from 2 other clubs never get mentioned as being dirty even though they have knocked a few folk out.

I'm just wondering but would be wrong with setting up the fixture lists such that the top 10 teams from the previous season play the bottom ten in the first half of the season and then rest after that? Would that not produce more interesting season finales (in both ends of the table)?

why would it?

you end up with the lower team having a ridiculously difficult run in and the higher teams having a walk in the park generally speaking, as the the teams would have the reverse fixtures at the end of the season.

the way you have set it out there you end up with a two tier league. if the top half all win then there would be such a large gap the lower half of the division may as well be another league.

The reverse fixtures would mean top teams play each other in second half of the season and the lower end teams play each other as well. How is getting lower end teams playing each other make it a difficult run in for them?

Poch really needs to shut up about how Kane's feeling - he's again said Kane's been left upset by all the jokes aimed at him. Every time Poch mentions this or anybody makes a big fuss about it, it's only going to lead to more and more jokes.
