I thinks it close enough to the start of the new football season to have a predictions thread. How is your team going to perform? Who will get the sack? Will your national side perform better? Who will win what competition? Who will get relegated? What will be the biggest surprise? What will not surpise anyone at all? What will be the highs and the lows? Which players will be great/awful? Who will be the biggest waste of money/best buy?

Hopefully this thread can be kept somewhere to be checked on come the end of the season.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United all in the top four with Chelsea the champions.

Reading, Sheffield United and Watford to get relegated. Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Wigan might struggle this season.

Everybody else in the middle.

Henry top goalscorer.

FA Cup == Chelsea
League Cup == Manchester United

Premiership:

1. Chelsea
2. Arsenal
3. Man Utd
4. Liverpool

Champions League:

Man Utd - First knockout round
Arsenal - Quarter Final
Liverpool - First knockout round
Chelsea - Semi Final

Big News Stories:

Man Utd - Ferguson falls out with the Glazers mid season, Martin O'Neill takes over next summer. Giggs + Scholes retire. Queiroz goes to manage an International team.

Chelsea - Mourinho's last season at Chelsea. Big arguments behind closed doors.

Arsenal - Last 16

Aren't the second round and the last 16 both the same thing? (2nd round = 2 teams from each of 8 groups = 16 teams = last 16)

I don't reckon the three teams coming up will go straight back down - I think Reading will stay up with maybe Boro going down after Southgate realises he can't manage.

Arsenal for third place in the league (Chelsea first, 'Pool(!) second). Probably quarters or something disappointing in the CL. However, hopefully it's about time for another FA Cup now. :p

Meanwhile, Parkinson's fast-paced attractive counter-attacking continental football will propel Hull to a mighty mid-table Championship finish. Leeds will still finish above them, sorry. Hopefully they'll lose one of the games (again) though.

Oh, and I reckon Reading will stay up.

Champions: Chelsea or Liverpool - Depends on the signings Liverpool make before the end of the transfer window. If we can get a right winger and another forward we will have addressed our weak points and will have a more balanced team than last year. We saw a massive improvement last season and I see no reason why we won't see the same again. Chelsea have made two quality signings but I don't think they will make that much difference to an already impressive team. I think the league games between the two sides will decide who comes first and who comes second.

3rd: Arsenal

4th: Man Utd or Tottenham - Man Utd, as a force, are on the decline and I don't see how they can challenge Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal while Ferguson remains in charge. Tottenham on the other hand have a manager who knows the way to improve the team is to buy better players. If they get Duff, I think they'll get the fourth spot.

Relegated: Portsmouth, Watford & Sheffield Utd

Champions League: Barcelona

FA Cup: Tottenham

League Cup: Liverpool

-Arsenal to finish 4th.
-Watford and Sheffield Utd to go down.
-Reading to stay up.
-Liverpool to win a cup.
-Ronaldo to cry.
-Stories to surface about poor viewing figures/attendances and that football is on a downward spiral, written by some numpty who can't see that a midweek league cup game against some reserve side during winter in a rugby town isn't going to attract droves of paying punters.

Chelsea again :(
2-4 ManU,Liverpool,Arsenal too close to call.
boring, boring, but no-one can match Chelsea over a season.Of those 4,the Mancs are the ones who might slip up IF they dont do something about their midfield.
