Ahh right - sorry, was just because your signature really catches my eye every time I see it. Some very stylish equipment on that site. Do you use them at home?

Nice bit of kit they have, my uncle has a pretty awesome setup in house. Must have spent at least £15k on his home cinema/audio setup:p.

Anyways back on topic, ill stick to meat. I couldnt really care about pigs as i dont eat...im muslim therefore its forbidden for us to eat them.

But the way i see it is God put animals on the planet for us to eat...granted not all animals are edible but couldnt see myself eating veg all the time..although my mum makes a mean veg curry:p

Something similar happened not far from me a few years ago right outside the Britannia Stadium on the A50 (about 3/4 mile from OCUK). A big animal carrier overturned spilling out 100's of sheep all over the dual carriageway. I went on my run that evening and it was roadkill x200 with dead sheep everywhere.

Accidents happen.

I understand Muslims don't eat pork because they're classed as swine/filthy animals? However if a pet pig is brought up in a clean enviroment (kept in the house, sleeps and eats in clean house) and only eats things like apples, and not other meat/own faeces/rubbish etc - would it be ok to it eat?

To those that say go veggie: Sorry but veginatarianism is a complete ****ing cop out. You are either against animals being used for food or you tolerate it. Vegan or nothing TBH.

I'd rather be a cow/ chicken killed for meat than be a battery hen or a cow used for dairy produce. Do you have any idea how dairy cows etc live? Clearly not...

oh hang on!
it is 100% possible to obtain milk and eggs from a cruelty free source
there are a number of farms near me that do this
i was vegan for a number of years and only returned to vegetarianism when i became ill of the vegan diet (yes i am fully aware it is possible to live as a vegan and be perfectly healthy, but my metabolism and i obviously weren't able)
i would *never* eat eggs from battery hens, or drink milk from a 'machine farmed' dairy cow

veganism is obviously the most cruelty free to live, but i wouldn't knock vegetarians - when each one saves over 90 animal lives each year

Lets say we live in a veggie world where we don't eat animals.
The first thing that will happen will be the culling of such animals because we don't need them.
These animals need looking after so who is now going to pay the farmer to tend to them?
We won't stand for millions of sheep, cows, pigs, chickens etc roaming around our countryside destroying crops that we now need for our veggie lifestyle.
At least eating them gives them a chance of some life for a while and as long as the killing is humane then I don't have a problem.
If we all went veggie it would be a killing field out there and eventually we would have to start finding ways of keeping their numbers down.

If people didn't eat sheep, cows, pigs etc what do you think would happen to them? Do you honestly think they would run free over the hills?

If everyone gave up eating meat tomorrow, every food producing animal in the country would be slaughtered over night. Why would the farmers spend money on feeding them if they can't sell them for food?

Most farm animals are so specialised these days that they can't survive without human intervention.

There is a small flaw in your argument. The animals wouldn't be there becase they are only bred at the moment for humans to eat, if all humans became veggie, there would be no need to breed the animals. Carry on....
