For people hoping for Bourne 4...

The Bourne trilogy is without doubt, my favourite trilogy of all time. I can seldom think of another trilogy where each film gets better as they go on. I agree that the story was tied off perfectly, and I would prefer it if another one wasn't made. But this has Matt Damon, Paul Greengrass and Scott Z. Burns, so I'm pretty sure this film will be awesome. But if it's anything short of spectacular, I will be disappointed. It has to be better than the Bourne Ultimatum or else it will spoil the trend. :p The Bourne Ultimatum and the Dark Knight are my favourite films of all time, so my sights are high for this. :D

A prequel may be interesting to see him join the program and do some missions up until the 1st borne film. But sequels is a no no the ending of the 3rd was perfect, it should be left like that to keep the magic of what happens to him a mystery.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo not a fourth!!!

Its like the Star Wars prequels - just shouldnt be done!!!

Until I see how they derived the screenplay I wont be interested - the 4th and 5th books were rubbish and if they are based on that - well its Rocky V again :/. Ludlum doesnt deserve this to happen a second time to him...

SW prequels were ok just ruined by modern filming methods. They would have been so much better if they used 70-80's cameras and effects and all that and film style.
I more meant that the original trilogy was fine and stood well/perfect on its own - it it aint broke, dont cash in on it ;):p

Ah i see. Yeah it was great on its own but the prequels do answer some questions which i guess many wanted to know, i.e how did Lukes dad end up the way he did etc. Which might be similar to see how Bourne was and how he got to where he was etc. Which i know some was touched on in the last Bourne film but might be nice to go in depth with that story arc.

I could not agree more with you my friend, it would be perfectamondosnowboflomo.

as much as i'd love another film cos all 3 bourne films were awesome! i gotta agree with majority here. the trilogy was great, and the last film ended well. I'd be happy if they left it at that

Im one of those awkward ones that rather make up my own back-story through the tid-bits left than be given it on a plate (the writer actually assumes the audience have a modicum of intelligence).

c.f The Joker in the latest Batman film...

Each film has given a glimpse of his life before his amnesia and I think having a film that explains his back-story would ruin the whole point of the first set of films (we discover who he is as he does, while he deals with the fact hes a cold killing machine who volunteered for this life).

Whatever happens I personally think it would ruin Ludlums whole story arc and the sentiment of the stories (that someone we take as a 'good guy' is someone who is anything but in reality and was 'happy' with his life)...

I guess. It would be best of course just to leave it as 3 films and no more but my suggestion of a prequel is a answer to, if another film has to be made, then don't do it from the 3rd film but go back just before the 1st film. That way we don't spoil the good ending the 3rd film ended with.
